Q. Why should I pay you to do something I can do myself?
A. Well, you have to weigh what is most important to you. Spending an endless amount of time on paperwork, tedious transactions and other time consuming duties or giving your attention to the aspects of your work that brings in more clients and business? We're positive your answer would be the latter. By turning over those tedious and time consuming duties to us, you can focus on what's important.....your business.

Q. I don't know if I can afford your services.
A. Of course you can! Our fees are done one of two ways: 1.) Hourly or 2.) by project. We only invoice you for time worked. Some of the services we provide have a prefigured flat fee or hourly rate. For more information check out our Rates & terms page or contact us for an estimate.

Q. What if I already have an assistant? Why would I still need your services?
A. If you already have an assistant, you're already making the first step to success. A good assistant is valuable and hard to come by. But, is your assistant able to balance all of the duties you assign him/her? Are there certain areas of the business that you just don't have time to train him/her in?
GVA can help with the overflow of work and also in the more specialized areas of your business. As independent contractors, we lend you the extra help without extra office space to provide, the bother of hiring additional help and having to provide benefits or sick/vacation time.

Q. I need someone in the office with me. Wouldn't it be more difficult having a virtual assistant?
A. Simply put, no. A Virtual Assistant is just as easily accessible as having a body in your office. We are only a phone call, fax, email, or IM away. As Virtual Assistants, we have mastered the art of being there when you need us, making communication as streamlined as possible. Plus, many have found it more of an advantage to not have to provide extra office space. Give us a try, you wont regret it!

Q. Do I have to hire you on permanently?
A. No. GVA conforms to your needs. We can be on call, temporary, or even fill in when your current staff is on vacation, on leave, or just out of the office for the day. We also offer trial periods. If, by chance, you are not satisfied with our work, you are under no obligation to continue the working relationship.

Q. I work in your area. Is it possible for you to come in the office every once in while or when needed?
A. Absolutely! That is one of the benefits of being local. We understand that emergencies come up and it is not always possible to have a document in electronic form. GVA would be more than happy to come to your office and have an initial consultation, organizing session, or collect hard copy documents and make them electronic for you. Of course, you have to be local!

Q. What if I do not use all the hours that were contracted for one month?
A.
If a client contracts for 20 hours per month but only uses 15, the additional five hours will carry over to the next month. If a client contracts for 20 hours, but required 30 hours of services that month, the additional hours will be billed separately at the end of the month at the discounted rate.

Q. How is the time spent on projects tracked?
A.
I use a utility called Time Stamp to track time spent on projects. This utility tracks time to the second and allows me to stop and start projects instantly; thus, allowing me to accurately charge clients for the time spent on their projects. If requested, time reports will be submitted with the invoice.

Q. As G.A.B.Y. VA is a micro business enterprise, what happens to my project during sickness, vacation, holiday, etc?
A: Here is how GVA works:

  • Clients who have bought hours up front always take priority. If you expect a continuous need for GVA services, you can guarantee your projects will fit our schedule at any time by securing a Retainer package.
  • Tasks that are already started take priority over prospective projects.
  • During sickness or vacation, GVA may use the services of other fellow VAs in order to meet the deadlines of all current clients’ projects.
  • Those projects that are especially large in volume may also require subcontractors. GVA subcontracts only with VAs who are experienced in the specific tasks required by the client. GVA personally examines all subcontractors work for conformity and precision before it is delivered to the client.

Enjoy having a VA at your fingertips!
